On Monday morning, January 16, over 400 volunteers from across Fort Worth joined together at Baker AME Chapel, to launch Tarrant Churches Together’s annual MLK Day of Service!
Tarrant Churches Together is led by Executive Director, Dr. Melinda Veatch (also member of the Mayor’s Faith Leader’s Cabinet, and Compassionate Fort Worth).

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.” It doesn’t matter how old you are, how much experience you’ve had, where you live, what size you are, EVERYONE CAN BE GREAT because EVERYONE CAN SERVE, so here’s your chance to be great — and be a bridge builder by reaching out and reaching across to others in this community!
Take a look at what Mayor Betsy Price stated, while visiting the activities that morning: Mayor Price Facebook Post.
During the MLK Day of Service, volunteers were helping feed families, clothing children, cleaning up a neighborhood, dispelling loneliness, sacking groceries, stocking pantry shelves and much, much more!
There were more than 30 different opportunities to make a difference in one life — or many!

HUGE thanks to Dr. Melinda Veatch for serving our community as a leader in compassion.
